Halloween Festivities

October has come and gone.
Here is what we were up to:

We played in the many many leaves that fell off the trees at our neighbors house.
We have a big tree in our front yard but it always seems to be the last tree to loose it's leaves.
The kids had fun making big piles of leaves and then jumping them.

We also went and did our annual Halloween Nightmare Express Train Ride.
We have been going for the past 4 years now and the kids still love it.
This family has a train track around their house and few of their neighbors.
For Halloween they deck it all out with fun Halloween stuff and take people for a ride
on the trains. If you live in this area you should really check it out.

And of course we had Halloween.
Jared donned his awesome Mr. Potato Head costume which landed him $50 at work just because he was wearing a costume. I went with something a little more easy this year: a robber
Smarty was Luigi...he really wanted to be Jack Sparrow but those costumes cost too much $$ so we talked him into being Luigi. The girls were twin cheerleaders which Sass wasn't too happy about her sister copying her but oh well cause they make some cute cheerleaders.

The girls won Best Girl Costume at our ward Trunk or Treat.
Sass was more than thrilled to win a costume contest.

The kids had a school parade and class parties.
Getting Smarty the donuts for his class party was an adventure but we FINALLY found some and even though they were a little late I'm sure the kids loved them. And I will never go to Krispy Kreme on Halloween to try to get donuts again....lesson learned.

Trick or Treating that night was fun. Smarty and Sweets gave up only after about 30 minutes but Sass and Ash went on for a few more hours and ended up with 3 times as more candy as the other two.

Oh and we can't forget a picture of our kitty dressed up as a fairy butterfly.
He didn't really like it but to humor me he kept it on long enough for me to snap this picture.
