{summer fun 12} family vacation

for our summer family vacation this year we headed up to our time share at Powder Mountain.

we are literally on top of a mountain. so far up that our phones don't even work well.

the kids love to go bacause they get to go swimming every day.

at the lodge they have a big pool, a little kiddie pool that is only about 1.5 ft deep and a kid hot tub.

Sweets loves the water and would just walk into what pool was by her. She didn't care how deep it was or if there was or wasn't anyone there to catch her. Luckily she was always wearing a life jacket but she still gave me a little heart attack every time she walked into a pool.

we went on lots of hikes

the short little hikes were perfect for our complaining kids.

one day I thought it would fun to go hike to find "the hidden lake". i got dierctions from a staff member and off we went. even though it wasn't a very long hike (only about 1/2 mile round trip) the staff member forgot to mention that it was pretty much down hill all the way there. so that meant we heard a lot of complaining from Mr. Smarty Pants and Sassafrass all the way back up. Every few minutes one of them was complaining about how there legs were tired or that they needed a water break or that it was just taking too long.

we all made it back and rewarded the kids with some ice cream bars from the lodge.

we also played games, watched movies, enjoyed the nice cool weather

 (it only gets to about a high of 75 on a daily basis), &

 tried not get on each other nerves while living in tight quarters with

 no real toys or video games to play.

one day in the week we headed down the mountain for some fun.

we headed on down to The Treehouse Museum.

the kids LOVED every moment of being there

 they loved it so much that every since then they have asked numerous time when we could back.

our vacation pretty good over all

we all can't wait to go bcak next year
