Chicks in the Mail

Did you know that you can mail live chicks in the mail?

I didn't until last week when I accompanied Sassafrass'

pre-school class on a field trip to a post office.

Apparently people mail chick quite often,

especially this time of year (people getting ready for Easter).

They were so cute and fluffy and quite noisy

Watching and learning how the mail gets sorted through the machine

It really moves those letters pretty fast....I was amazed.

All the kids got to see how much they all weighed on the big scale

What a hefty bunch we have!!!
