Love for Cookbooks

As a child I had a Strawberry Shortcake Cookbook. I loved this book. I would look through the book over and over deciding which recipes looked the best and what I would like to make. I don't remember actually making anything from it (correct me if I am wrong Mom) . I have always had a love for cookbooks, not a love for cooking but a love for looking through the pages and finding great and wonderful recipes. I like to look at the pictures and let my mouth salivate and wish that someone would make it for me since I am not a good cook and don't enjoy cooking.

Having a love for cookbooks I often find myself in the shelves at the library looking for new cookbooks to look through. Last week (on Friday) during our library trip I found myself once again amongst the cookbooks but this time it was in the children section. As I looked over the many many cookbooks I came across this......

and knowing that Ian now has an obsession with Star Wars I decided to get it. Ian must have the same love as I have because it is now Tuesday and he still is carrying the book around with him. He looks through the pages telling us what recipes he would and wouldn't like and which ones he thinks we might like.

Trying to be a good and nice mom I decided to try a few of these recipes for the kiddos. Here is what we made......

and the verdict was: YUMMY & we should MAKE THIS AGAIN!!!

Ian also got it in his head that he should write his own cookbook

1. Apple
2. Oranges
Put the fruit in the bowl

Translation:
Ewok Eats
1 apple
1 soda
dip your apples in the soda

Translation:
Jawa Soda
1. Soda
2. Water
Put it in a cup

I hope his love for cookbooks continues to grow then maybe HE could make me some of those delicious recipes I have been eyeing for years!!!!
