4th of July

To celebrate the 4th we first headed off to the Freedom Festival to see Jared's family at their "TeXas TwisTer" booth.

Then we headed home to prepare some food (watermelon, corn, & salsa) for a BBQ at our friend's the Fowler's. There we ate some good food, played this

and I won!!

and then we played this

and did fireworks on and off during the night. During our first attempt started to get windy so we stopped. Then we tried a little later and it started raining. On our third try we ended up getting to finish all our fireworks, and I am sure their neighbors didn't appreciate us lighting them off at 11pm. The kids really seemed to like them. Every time one went off Maggie would yell "COOL", it was cute.
