Summer Vacation 2010

Here is a run down of our vacation (it's kinda long).....

First we headed to Sacramento to visit all the Buchanan Family who live out there.

The 10 hour drive turned into a 12 hour drive and an overnight stay in Reno due to the fact that Miss Maggie decided to throw-up 3 times.

Luckily we were stopped at a gas station/truck stop with a very sympathetic cashier who gave us numerous bags, towels, and the use of the truckers showers for free.

My hips went numb while holding a sleeping, sick little girl on my lap for 1 1/2 hours while we drove to Reno. Her car seat had been puked on 3 times and was very wet so we didn't dare put her back in it. Also, it seemed that every time we buckled her that was when she would throw up.

We stayed at a Motel 6 in Reno to try to catch some zzzz's.

We finally made it Sacramento to Trevor & Juli's house the next day.

Maggie was feeling better.

The cousins had fun with each other. Many Wii games.

The Roper boys (Kyle*Joseph*Jacob) and Ian

Cute Emily

Jared and Trevor had fun with the Nerf guns.

I got nervous when we waited on the docks for Grandpa Jack's boat to come down.
I thought for sure the kids were going to fall in and I didn't want to go in after them.

Mags on the docks

Never actually got on the boat because there were some minor problems.

The adults had fun playing many rounds of "The Great Dalmuti".

Trevor & Jacki being the Peons

Jared got to change the tire on Juli's car.....he was such a good sport!!!!

After a few days there we then headed down to Southern California to
spend a few days with my family.

The drive was good until we hit the 4th of July traffic....that was not fun.

Made it my parents house....finally!!!

While getting dinner ready all the kids were playing outside.
My niece Lyla (who is Maggie's age) had a 45 pound weight fall on
her foot causing it to split open and break in a few different places.
She ended up getting 14 stitches and a soft cast.

Here is Lyla being a trooper at Disneyland & sporting her cast

Even with that happening the next day 18 of us went to Disneyland.
Luckily the weather was nice (75 degrees) but the crowds were not.

The kids had fun.

Maggie got to meet Goofy.

Ian and his cousin Jacob got to go through the Jedi Knight Academy.

Ian fought Darth Maul

Jacob fought Darth Vader

Mom sat with all the other kids and watched.

Maggie DID NOT like "The Matterhorn" but LOVED "It's a Small World"

Couldn't get Ian to go on any of the fast rides.

We watched Captian EO. Wasn't as good as I remembered it.

The fireworks were great.

Kids and adults got cranky so we left and we actaully got out of there with spending less than $50, and including getting into the park (thanks to Disney's Give A Day Get A Day).

My Dad turned 60 so we had a Fiesta.

The kids did a pinata.

We even made Grandpa take a swing

Auntie Hollie took a whack too

Here is the aftermath

Dad had 60 candles on his cake even though he didn't want them.

We went swimming at Aunite Cate's little kid pool.

The kids had fun playing with all of their cousins.

The highlight of the trip for Ian was getting to see Uncle Rendal's Star Wars Legos
and getting to put some of them together. Ian acutally didn't want to leave
because he wanted to play with them more.

We headed back home and then stopped in Vegas to visit some friends.

Got to catch up with them and see their cute new little baby. And when I mean little I mean little....she is 2 months old and weighs 6 pounds....so cute and tiny.

The kids had fun playing with Ema and Winston for a few hours.

We finally made it home.

Holy Cow! That sounds like quite the vacataion! I'm impressed you survived the whole puking in the car three times thing. That takes detication.
